When on 19. June the work of art "Monna Vanna" by Franz von Stuck for 13,500 euros was called, certainly no one had expected that at the end of an exciting bidding war a new world record for this bronze of the artist would stand to book. Finally, the 54-centimeter-high statue for 51,200 euros changed hands.
This is a world record, so much money has never been paid for this work!
David Christian Wettmann
for many other works of art, we were able to more than quadruple the call prices in some cases. Among them works of Günther Uecker , A.R. Penck , Norbert Bisky and Hede Bühl.
The second part of our summer auction focused on jewelry and luxury watches. Here also fantastic results were achieved. Among other things, a "Rolex Oyster Perpetual " for 23,750 euros (limit 9,500 euros), a "Rolex 'Lady Datejust'" for 7500 euros (limit 3,800 euros) and a necklace with emerald and river pearls for 6000 euros.
Thus, it was able to build on successes from 2020 and our position as the leading auction house in the Ruhr region.
